Market Hog Selector

Tosh Farms is a rapidly growing, family-owned crop and swine production business with over 500 employees and expansion plans within the next 2 years.  Tosh Farms consists of three separate enterprises working in a synergistic fashion: Tosh Farms is the crop production company, Tosh Pork, LLC is the swine production company, and Bacon By Gosh, Inc is the transportation company.

The Market Hog Selector is a position responsible for identifying and selecting the correct hogs for market. After 90 days the, Market Hog Selector will work independently with little supervision. 

What You Do

• Profile finishing farms during sales periods to project sales of pigs according to desired marketing criteria
• Accurately manage inventory & during sale of hogs until farm is cleaned out and prepped for babies
• Must be able to communicate effectively with contract growers, truck dispatch, loading teams, regional service personnel & others of any changes in sales schedule immediately
• Follow all company guidelines for proper biosecurity
• Assist teammates in weighing of market hogs on a weekly basis

Who You Are:

• High School/GED required, Bachelor's degree in Agricultural related program preferred but not required
• Excellent written & verbal communication
• Computer literacy in all MS Office
• Keen eye for detail
• Self-motivated
• Clean driving record

Physical Requirements

• Comfortable working around large animals
• Able to step over penning
• Able to stand and walk for the majority of each day
• Able to lift/push/pull up to 30lbs frequently, and 50lbs infrequently
• Able to work in inclement weather
